SUNLIGHT & BODIES, work in progress 2010
My current project is exploration of the relationship between sunlight and bodies. I am interested in the intricacies of their communication, the ways in which they affect each other, the particular lines of transmission they use to communicate and the sort of creative capacities this communication has.
I am looking particularly at the impact of light on mood, overall body energy and inclination to action. The project aims at transforming the already existing relation between light and bodies through training, technological intervention and fictional enhancement so that a new sort of assemblage is engendered that has expanded capabilities.

SOLAR BUGS, 2009
Solar Bugs is the prelude to the current project and it was an exercise of fictional speculation. It works around the fiction of a possible mutation of human bodies that allows them to extract energy from the sun. It materialised in a letter to Annie Abrahams containing a sample of solar_bugs. The letter prompted the recipient to inject the live sample and experience the mutation.

VIRTUAL FIREFLIES, 2008
Virtual Fireflies was a 15 minute piece that was broadcasted on ResonanceFM on December 12th 2008. It is actually the project that gave name to this space. http://www.vimeo.com/4377333
“Fireflies. In an era of virtual control, virtual subversions. To the hyperstition of today’s recombination of infinite paranoias, the hyperstition of sonic warmachines. Little bugs swarming the air, coming from the future, hijacking the same energies produced by societies of control, forcing their deviation, capsules of fiction working as catalysts for intensity, exorcising fear and triggering desire.”
Virtual Fireflies became also an intervention in Berlin during the Breakthrough event organised by xxxxx.

MINI-TROOPS OF UNREALITY, 2008
“Mini-troops of unreality addresses Security Systems not only as Control Systems but also as fear producers. The viral nature of these entities is revealed in long series of pictures and detonated through the use of different methodologies. Mini-troops of unreality makes use of speculative tactics to allow fictional worlds to invade urban space. Fishes become mini warriors populating barbed wire. Parachutists from China land on specific targets and sores open all over the city as a transmutation of fear into matter. An exercise of fear exorcism where intimate and public matters meet.”
